Pontchartrain Conservancy will hold its Sixth annual Storm Sweep (previously known as Spring Sweep) a day designated to clean up the Lake Pontchartrain Basin. Hurricane season is on the way, and we intend to be prepared!

Storm Sweep is held in conjunction with the Great American Cleanup sponsored by Keep America Beautiful, an annual program that engages 500,000 volunteers and 15,000 communities nationwide. Dozens of volunteers, partners, and sponsors will help clean up the areas that drain into Lake Pontchartrain by cleaning curbs, ditches, and storm drains along city streets and rural roadways. Storm Sweeps designated areas for cleanup around the lake at this time include Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. John, St. Tammany, and Tangipahoa Parishes.

You can help prepare our communities for the coming summer rains. Join us for a catch basin and neighborhood clean-up, become an event sponsor or both! Together we'll remove trash and debris so that our catch basins can adequately route stormwater out of our neighborhoods.
