Mission Statement

To drive environmental sustainability and stewardship through scientific research, education, and advocacy.

The Pontchartrain Conservancy is the only non-profit, science driven environmental organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing Lake Pontchartrain and its basin. The Pontchartrain Basin is a 10,000 square mile watershed which includes 16 Louisiana Parishes, 4 Mississippi Counties and the most densely populated areas in Louisiana, New Orleans and Baton Rouge. At our core is Lake Pontchartrain, a 630 square mile estuary. Our programs focus on improving water quality, coastal restoration and education. In 2019 we celebrated 30 years of protecting our environment, our economy and our culture.

Support Us Through Membership

Recurring gifts are an easy way to ensure that Louisiana's way of life is here for our children. Your recurring gift to the Pontchartrain Conservancy makes the day to day work of our scientists possible year round. For as little as $50/year ($4.16/month), you can help restore Louisiana's coast, keep our waterways clean, and help us educate students. Any membership level may be divided into 12 monthly payments.

  • $50 Individual ($4.16/month)
  • $75 Family ($6.25/month)
  • $150 Patron ($12.50/month)
  • $500 Preserver ($41.67/month)
  • $1000+ Captain's Circle ($83.33/month)

Please consider supporting a healthy Louisiana with your recurring gift today!
